The troop attended district Camporee, running the catapults station and winning 2 awards, with special thanks Mr. Mahady as camp director and one of our scouts serving as ASPL of the entire camp for making this Camporee a good one.
The troop went to Kelly's pond, a site in Sam Houston National Forest to build some survival shelters, work on our Wilderness Survival Merit Badges, and also to roast a pig, something that we normally do not get the opportunity to do, all with some amazing weather, perfect for Wilderness Survival Merit Badge as a nice bonus on top of everything else. Everyone who went had a great time out there, even asking for more campouts like this one!
To start off 2025, the troop participated in Trail to Troop (formerly known as Webelos Woods), where we ran the firebuilding station and got many new scouts to join our troop coming from a couple packs, and everyone who went had a blast despite the cold!
Over fall break 2024, the troop went up to Arkansas to complete Eagle Rock Loop, A scenic 26.8 mile backpacking trail in Ouachita National Forest, going over rivers, mountains, and forests, passing by amazing vista points like the Winding Stairs and Little Missouri Falls (In the background of the 2nd picture). Everyone who went had a blast as this will be one memorable backpacking expedition.
For our October campout in 2024, we went to the birch creek unit of lake Sommerville state park where we got a ton of sign offs, did a cardboard boat race, lots of fishing on the lake, and did a night hike where we saw a rare comet, the milky way, some of the planets like Venus and Saturn, and an epic moonrise.
When Big Boy came into town, a couple of scouts from the troop went downtown to see it for their railroading merit badge.
For our campout in September 2024, we went out to Huntsville state park and did activities like a 5 mile hike, fishing, as well as conducting a flag retirement ceremony during our campfire.

For the annual troop fair, which is an event where new scouts are recruited, we set up a table in Dick's House of Sport and did a catapult activity with the webelos of other packs in the hope that they choose to join our troop when they cross over from Cub Scouts.
The troop attended the Middle Fork of the Salmon River High Adventure Base in Stanley, Idaho this summer. We hiked into mountain lakes, visited old dredges, and participated in a 5 day, 100 mile white water float down the Middle Fork of the Salmon river with Class IV, II rapids.
For Summer Camp 2024, we went to Lost Pines Scout reserve for a week. During the day, we all attended merit badge classes for various merit badges such as, but not limited to Riffle shooting, Kayaking, Camping, and others. In the evening, the troop got to do events like Troop Swim, Movie night, and Climbing tower.
In February 2024, the troop visited Gartner state park where we hiked, did some difficult sign offs, went into a crystal cave, and got some first aid experience in real time.
In November 2023, the troop went out west to big bend national park and did the Maufo Vega Trail the first day, and then the window trail the following. Other than hiking, we had good food, admired great views, and more!
For the troop's high adventure in 2023, the troop went to Philmont, a High adventure scout ranch in New Mexico. The brave scouts who went went up the mountain there for around 7 days, and they had to bring everything on their backs all the way up and back down.
For summer camp 2023, the troop went to Trevor-Rees-Jones Scout Camp for a week. While there, the scouts who went worked on merit badges for the full week and all had fun while doing it.
The troop went to big bend in December 2022, The troop went to Big Bend National Park and did six trails in two days, such as, (but not limited to) Lost mine trail, Window trail, and Santa Elena Canyon trail. We hiked the whole time, and left with good memories we will never forget.
For Summer camp in 2022, The Troop went to Camp Hale. While there, the scouts who went worked on merit badges for the full week and all enjoyed their time there.
